Hadley-Luzerne Schools Take Swift Action on Reported Threat

LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y.Quick thinking and strong community awareness helped prevent a potential threat at Hadley-Luzerne Central School District over the holiday weekend. A district member has been suspended from attending in-person classes for the remainder of the school year after reportedly making a concerning social media post.

According to Superintendent Beecher Baker, the district immediately worked with Saratoga and Warren County Sheriff’s Departments to ensure the safety of students in Hadley, Lake Luzerne, Stony Creek, Corinth, and the Town of Day. Officials located the individual swiftly, ensuring there was no immediate risk to the school. Additional police presence will continue throughout the week as a precaution.

“We appreciate the vigilance of our community—when people see something and say something, it makes a difference,” Baker stated. “Our priority is creating a safe learning environment for all students, and we encourage families to stay informed and reach out for support when needed.”

Law enforcement confirmed that while the individual was not arrested, further disciplinary action is being taken. The case is now in the hands of Warren County officials, who are conducting additional evaluations.

Following recent national events, Hadley-Luzerne schools are reinforcing their commitment to student safety, mental health resources, and open communication with families.
