HADLEY, N.Y. — A 26-year-old Hadley man was arrested Tuesday following an incident in Lake Luzerne in which he allegedly attempted to strike a Department of Public Works employee with his vehicle, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area of East River Drive and Rose Avenue after receiving reports that a driver had entered an active work zone and targeted a Warren County DPW worker. Following an investigation, authorities allege that Michael Sutliff drove his pickup truck through the work zone and intentionally attempted to hit one of the workers with the vehicle.

Investigators further report that the incident stemmed from a personal dispute. According to authorities, Sutliff was allegedly upset after the victim posted photos on Instagram involving Sutliff’s romantic interest.

After being stopped, Sutliff reportedly confronted the victim, engaged in a verbal altercation, and struck the individual in the face.

Sutliff has been charged with:

• Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree
• Harassment in the Second Degree
• Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device
• Reckless Driving

Following arraignment, Sutliff was released. He is scheduled to appear in Lake Luzerne Town Court at a later date.
